What’s LØT Club?

In 2022 I became an owner of an automotive club which was set up by two of my friends. We all had the vision to make LØT a business, so we’ve set out to do just that.

Over time I’ve been the one to manage the social media accounts, create and manage the website and even control the sales we make on club merchandise. I’ve been doing all this along side creating and finding automotive events and shows that the club and all members can attend.

Why is LØT Club important?

Since embarking on this new adventure as being a small business owner, LØT Club has been a huge part of my life. Me and my friends started working on this in June 2022 and since then, I have invested almost all of my spare time and even money into the business.

I’ve experienced so much from meeting and creating brand new friend groups to even understanding how running your own business works. It’s not been easy but I’ve been able to tackle any problems that have occurred so far, such as issues with website sales, trying to get the club into new events and even trying to manage a community a car enthusiasts, making sure everyone behaves as they represent our club.

Product Creation and Running a Store

Aside from planning events and running social media accounts, a big part of LØT Club has been the merchandise store. I’ve been working hard coming up with ideas and new products, from car stickers to keyrings and even starting to produce clothing.

It’s took a lot of planning to make this stuff work such as designing what the stickers will look like, or what colour we would have certain items. Following this I’ve also had to then try and market these items and try to generate sales off our website. Event Planning

Another crucial side to the club has been planning events and shows for the club to attend. Some examples of events we’ve attended have been Ford Fair 2023 at Silverstone and The Max Power Reunion Show in 2023.

I’ve also planned out our own events where we’ve invited any members to come along for. Our biggest event hosted by the club would be our Peak District Spring Takeover. I spent a lot of time planning this event with a couple of friends to make sure it would be a fun day out for any car enthusiast. There’s a lot to talk about when it comes to this event but essentially it was a huge car convoy around the peak district. We planned a 56 mile route that stopped off at the greatest point of interests.

Creating a Community

The main part of creating a car club was of course to build a community of car enthusiasts who can hang out together and all share their interest in cars.

After a year of working on LØT Club, I can already say I feel like I’ve succeeded in doing that. I’ve found so many new people through doing this and there’s such a great community that talks to each other every day.

It’s not just creating the community however, it’s also a task to make sure that everyone is getting along and whatever they do when it comes to the club is respectful and doesn’t cause any drama. I’m always here for when people have any concerns and I have members message me when they want to talk about anything, like I’m almost a club therapist in a way 😅.

My communication skills have grown and I have gained so much confidence throughout this whole experience.

Social Media Managing

This is a skill I was already used to before taking on the role of managing the club accounts. I was already experienced from managing my own Instagram, TikTok and YouTube accounts as well as managing the social media for my actual full-time job as a digital marketer.

Within a year of working on the club, I managed to get the Instagram account (Our main focus point) to over 1000 followers. I did this by posting as much content as I could, consisting of photos and videos. I also manage a TikTok account and a YouTube channel for the club, posting videos to those platform when I can.
